Ian Waite has been blessed with the innate ability to look outside the box and create new and innovative training materials  and systems. As an International seminar teacher I have had the pleasure to train with others who have this ability, people like Wally Jay, Remy Presas Ron Van Browning, Allen Steen, Bill Wallace, Joe Lewis and Allen Wheeler. Ian shares the limelight with these movers and shakers of the Martial Arts World and I am proud to call him my friend, His teachings have been a inspiration to Dragon Society International and we are better because he took the time to train us.

My honest opinion of Sensei Waite from my personal contact and also from an Examination he did in our Honbu. Nice personality, quite good and fast hands. Had no fear of testing his skills against attackers of different Arts.

His knowledge on pressure points was good and maybe more extensive than he had time to show. Overall a Martial  Artist of good standing who is not afraid to test his skill.

I’m really pleased to be able to write a few words for Ian Waite. Despite a few thousand miles between us,we’ve maintained a strong relationship, particularly with Ian being our British Combat Association Chief Instructor for the Southern Hemisphere.

This is not a position that we appoint lightly and indicates our belief in Ian’s talents and abilities in the Martial Arts and for Geoff Thompson and myself, and equally as important, he’s a great guy with a sense of humor that we appreciate.

Ian is a man of insight; one of those rare individuals that sees the larger picture in both Art and Life. I consider the time left to me to be precious beyond most everything else – I am careful with whom and how I spend that time-and the time I have spent with Ian, I consider to be well spent. Although a teacher of the Martial Arts, Ian has embraced perhaps one of the most important truths of all – and that is to be a teacher of people one has to be at all times – a students. Ian Waite – a students of the Arts.

In this modern World it is difficult to know who to rely on for solid Martial Arts knowledge, diversified training  concepts and also traditional   values.  Ian Waite is a talented Martial   Artist, a great fighter and I believe a good promoter of the Arts. He has been associated with the Dragon Society International for year’s and it is my pleasure to recommend him as a trustworthy instructor.

I first had the pleasure of meeting Ian Waite in England, 1999, my first impression of Ian was he is one of the most sincere Martial Arts I have ever meet ,He beamed his energy and knowledge to everyone that interacted with him. Giving overflowing does of his years of experience and insight to rank beginners and seasoned martial artists alike. His outgoing personality was a pleasure to be around.

Since then Ian and I have crossed paths a few more times [pretty amazing since Ian lives in New Zealand and I live in Tennessee]

During those  visits  I was able  to touch  the depths  of  Ian’s knowledge. Without a  doubt his understanding of the human body, it’s reflex actions and martial mechanics was beyond comparison. I’ve incorporated many of Ian’s speed training into my own personal workout’s and have seen marked improvement. If you get the opportunity to train with Ian, don’t past it up. You will not be disappointed.

I first met Ian Waite in 1993…WOW was my reaction then, after all these years, nothing has changed. Ian should be registered as a National Martial Arts Treasure, his vast experience and opened minded teaching is priceless. As with all treasures they become more valuable with time. I cannot recommend him enough.
