Why the “State of the Arts” Supercamp
I started the “State of the Arts” in 2001 as a way to help Martial Artists from all styles to grow in there knowledge and skills, just like I had experienced in my 27 years of diverse personal training and 15 years of teaching National and International seminars ..I wanted other motivated students and Instructors to benefit from the kinds of information that I had experienced without having to constantly travel around the world spending $$$$ and sitting on those long nightmare Airplanes flights {Sitting on the airplane, huuuummmm, ask my wife about it sometime,]
Many times throughout my years of study I reached plateaus in my training and motivation {I am sure you have had the feeling] and I have found by stepping out of my box [outside my style or art ] that I was instantly stimulated to persevere on the path people often inquire [some even criticize me, can you believe that, in the martial arts, no, not possible [lol] how I have developed such diversity of study, skills and success in the Arts with multiple Black Belts and International recognition.
My answer is always step outside your box, pull your blinkers off, take your head out of the sand and crosstrain, crosstrain and crosstrain again. I am amazed [actually no I'm not, I know the reason, more on that some other time] how some martial artists will only stay in one style and never look outside there Art. I know it’s a bit freaky to go to another school or attend a seminar on some thing you may not understand, that’s maybe not your art, but just for a moment imagine what your life would be like if you only could write with one type of pen and one color, you only learned to walk in a straight line and the only food you could eat was Mc Donalds {get out Supersize Me on DVD and stop the slow death,} what would your life be like, go on, don’t cheat, imagine.
I am sure you get my point; your whole world comes alive when we are given lots of possibilities to play with, this is also true with Martial arts, Bruce Lee used to say “you must first empty your cup [there’s a long Zen story he borrowed this statement from] but to progress to the high levels of M/Arts excellence we must, for a time at least ,empty out some of our old information, training systems and concepts and play with some new Martial Arts toys …..So the perfect environment for you to feel like Santa just came down your chimney are……. the “State of the Arts” Supercamps.
Remember as I have said before NONE… no… NOT ONE … of the Ancient or Modern M/Arts Masters perfected there overall abilities With only one teacher and only one Art, [ they may not tell you this,] but along with discipline and focus, this was the real secret to there success. And the S O T A s could just be a big stepping stone to your own Martial Arts success.
Over the years we have had hundreds supercamp attends who have taken just that STEP.
So come along and immerse yourself in a weekend of relaxed learning and fun,,, from 10 highly skilled teachers from diverse backgrounds,,, all with the ability to take you from where you are regardless of rank or style to a higher level of M/Art excellence.
